WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
Do you find yourself with a hearty appetite that is contributing to weight gain? You may benefit from Semaglutide. Semaglutide is one of 6 naturally occurring Glucagon Like Peptides (GLP-1) satiety enzymes our bodies produce that delay gastric emptying, thus causing a sense of fullness. In some people a GLP-1 deficiency causes increased appetite and weight gain. If you are overweight and/ or have additional weight related medical condition(s), you may benefit from Semaglutide therapy.
Remember, no intervention is risk-free.
The most common side effect of Semaglutide is nausea and constipation. That's why agreeing to water intake of at least 32 oz a day is outlined in the Semaglutide Consent Form. Some other side effects include diarrhea, vomiting, stomach (abdominal) pain, headache, fatigue, dizziness, feeling bloated after a small meal, belching, gas and heartburn. If constipation occurs in spite of sufficient water intake, reducing the dose of Semaglutide may be necessary.
Adverse reactions include but are not limited to acute pancreatitis, gastroparesis and gallstones. As these can be diagnosed by exam and lab tests, scheduled visits with your iMed or primary care provider are important.
Contraindications include history of pancreatic cancer, medullary carcinoma, MEN Type II, diabetes and pregnancy. It is unknown whether Semaglutide is passed through breastmilk or safe for those under the age of 18, therefore is contraindicated. If you plan on becoming pregnant, stop Semaglutide 2 months before attempts to conceive. If you had a past allergic reaction to BPC-157, Semaglutide or any other GLP-1 agonist such as: Adlyxin®, Byeta®, Bydureon®, Ozempic®, Rybelsus®, Trulicity®, Victoza®, Wegovy®, then you are not a candidate for Semaglutide.
